A Node Callback is called during the update traversal of the scenegraph.

class MyUpdateCallback : public osg::NodeCallback {
 
    virtual void operator()(osg::Node* node, osg::NodeVisitor* nv) {
 
        // Add custom code here...
 
        traverse(node,nv);
    }
};
node->setUpdateCallback(new MyUpdateCallback());
